Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year. I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with your child. This is my thirty-fourth year to teach; my degree is in secondary English and business education. Over the years, I have taught English, reading, and computer keyboarding, as well as computer literacy. This year I am teaching eighth grade Read 180 and eighth grade Pre AP English.

| Parent Conference Times: | Eighth period is team meeting time. If you would like to conference with me, please email me at mary.brown@abileneisd.org and we will set up a time. Often when a parent needs to meet with a teacher, it is best to set up a team conference so that the parent(s) will have access to multiple teachers. It is a good idea to "see the whole picture" and facilitate helping the student to the utmost. Eighth period team meeting time is usually best for this. | The subject is important, but the students are more important. Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. Anonymous |
