I have always loved to read, and I enjoy sharing my passion with my students.  I know that not
everyone loves to read, but it  is a skill that makes life easier.  I only ask that students "turn on the
camera" when they read.  I taught in the private sector, and I have 25 years with AISD.  Teaching is a
journey that has given me joy, and I look forward to each new year.

 I have two tutuoring times located in room 402.
 
Monday and Tuesday are for parent meetings and/or for students who need help in a specific area.  These two days  are scheduled by Mrs. Cook.  
The second tutoring times are open tutoring times. They are Thursday and Friday from 3:30 to 5:00.  These tutoring times are for any of my students who need my help.
Since I have a school book club that meets on Wednesdays,there is not turtoring on Wednesdays.

 

 

 Supplies for Mrs. Cook's Pre-AP & Read 180 Classes

 Mrs. Cook's Read 180 list will be given the first day 

Pre-AP Class  SUPPLIES

 2 folders (with pockets that are kept in the school binder), 1 Notebook  2 inches
 or less and must have a permanent name on the spine of the notebook, a pencil bag, 
 5 dividers, 1 Post-it Notes (any color), 1 set of 3x5 note cards, pens (all colors
 except pale, neon or glitter, gold or silver), pencils, paper (NO college rule), and a
 small scotch tape
 

Organizing Classroom Binder

(binder that stays in the classroom)

      Begins with the pencil bag containing index cards, Post-it Notes & scotch tape (small size)

      Next are the 5 tabs:
  Academic Vocabulary  is 1st Tab       Reading  is 2nd Tab      Writing  is 3rd Tab     Grammar  is 4th Tab  

 Portfolio is 5th Tab – a portfolio is collection of graded writing papers

v School binder - a notebook the student carries from class to class

v English Homework ONLY is to be kept in the first folder in

the school binder.

v Graded papers are to be kept in the second folder, and I
  will tell the students when to "delete".
