“Beartastic” FifthGrade

 

From our fifth gradereporters…

 

            We have the Reading and Math STAARtests out of the way.  But now we havethe Science STAAR test.  In science weare learning about adaptations and we are making our own animals up and makinga poster.  We are having a cookout on May29th if we don’t lose four boxes. If we lose four boxes, we have school the rest of the day instead ofjust having it in the morning.  In mathsome of us are working towards doing 6yh grade math in Reasoning Minds.  In reading we are doing research about thestates.  In PE we are playingkickball.  In music we are talking aboutwhat we will be doing in the talent show. In the library, Mrs. Wallace is pushing us to Million Word Reader andMoonlight Madness.  In the computer lab,we are doing Istation and tying games. Mr. Coronado, the art teacher from Grace Museum, came and we made 3Dpaintings.

            Over the last six weeks we have beenlearning all kinds of fun things.  Inreading we have been learning about prepositions, prepositional phrases, andpersuasive texts.  In science we havebeen making a made-up species of animal. We are also getting reading for the science STAAR test.  In math we are working on RM on thecomputers.  In PE we are playing kickballand are going to take an important health test in the gym on April 30th.

            We are getting ready to take thescience STAAR test.  We have taken thereading and math STAAR tests.  In socialstudies we are learning a lot.

            May 22nd – 5th gradefield day (12:00 – 2:30)

            May 28th – 5thgrade completion ceremony

           

            Parents, the fifth grade teachershave fun activities planned for those students who have displayed good citizenship.  Please continue to encourage your child toalways do their best.  That is a goodskill for life!  As summer is fastapproaching, the fifth grade teachers wish all students well as they prepare toenter middle school.
