Welcome to EHS! | Early Head Start is a federally funded program providing early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services on a year-round basis to low-income families with children ages birth-to-three, and pregnant women. The purpose of the program is to enhance children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development; to support parents' efforts to fulfill their parental roles; and to help parents move toward self sufficiency. The AISD Early Head Start program targets pregnant and parenting teens enrolled in the AISD. The program serves 148 infants and toddlers and 8 pregnant women.
