Blair Schroeder

Blair Schroeder is a proud Abilenian, born and raised, and a product of AISD. After nearly two decades away pursuing higher education and professional development, Blair and his wife, Erin, returned to Texas in 2019 from Cincinnati. They made the decision to bring their four children back to Abilene, where they are deeply rooted in the community that shaped Blair’s values and postured him for success.

Blair is a distinguished business and community leader with a robust track record in business management, public affairs, economic development, communications, and strategic leadership.

Upon returning to Texas, Blair served as District Director for U.S. Rep. Arrington, where he represented Arrington’s interests and led the Abilene office and its staff across 15 counties. In September 2021, Blair joined Abilene Christian University as Chief Strategy Officer, entrusted with executive leadership over the university’s strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with ACU’s mission and vision. He works in the Office of the President, serves on the university’s Senior Leadership Team, and also oversees government and community relations and strategic communications functions.

Before returning to Texas, Blair held the role of Managing Director at Sibcy Cline Core Services, overseeing operations with over 100 full-time employees managing across 5 business lines and thousands of customers. His career includes roles in corporate communications at Duke Energy, which is among the largest utilities and energy holding companies in the US, public affairs and economic development at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, which regularly ranks as the best pediatric hospital in the country, and various advocacy roles in local, state, and federal campaigns.

Active in community and non-profit sectors, Blair has contributed significantly in both Cincinnati and Abilene. He served as founding chairman of the NKY Forum, President of advisory boards, and contributed to organizations like the United Way and Boys Scouts of America. Blair’s leadership roles include the NKY Chamber’s Board of Advisors & Directors and the REDI Cincinnati Board, driving economic development.

Recognized as a Top Business Leader Under 40 by Cincinnati’s Venue Magazine, Blair currently chairs the Abilene Civil Service Commission and was elected to the Abilene ISD Board of Trustees in May 2024.
