A total of $47,000 was awarded in scholarships to 37 students from Abilene High School, Cooper High School, ATEMS High School and Woodson Center for Excellence.

Scholarships are funded through AEF, AHS & CHS Alumni, Citizens Bank of Abilene, various Donor Directed Scholarships, Meta Alice Keith Bratten Foundation, Johnny Ortega, Jr. Memorial Scholarship, Michele Scott Memorial Scholarship, Cougar Nation Scholarship, John McCabe Memorial Scholarship, Rising Phoenix Scholarship, Royce Curtis Excellence in Education Endowed Scholarship and Young Masters Juried Art Exhibition.

If the AEF scholarship recipient decides to attend a local college or university, he or she also has the opportunity to double their scholarship award. Abilene Christian University, Hardin- Simmons University, McMurry University, and Cisco College have all generously committed to match the AEF scholarship amount, within certain guidelines, in the student’s financial aid package with the university or college funded financial aid.
