ABILENE – After their first playoff victory in four seasons, the Abilene High Eagles are set to take on North Crowley in the area round of the Class 6A Division II playoffs, a game that will be played Friday night at Memorial Stadium on the Tarleton State University campus in Stephenville. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The Eagles (6-4) advanced to the second round of the playoffs by virtue of a 42-35 win over El Paso Eastwood last Saturday afternoon in Fort Stockton. It was the first playoff win as head coach for Eagles’ leader Mike Fullen and the first playoff win for the program since a 55-0 win over El Paso Americas in the area round of the Class 6A Division II playoffs on Nov. 18, 2016.

North Crowley (7-3) has won four straight games and advanced to the area-round game with a 23-16 win over Byron Nelson High School last Friday night.
