Abilene ISD Executive Director of Athletics Jim Garfield announced that the district has hired Kaegan Jimenez as the new head softball coach at Cooper High School.

Jimenez joins the Cooper coaching staff after spending the past three years as head softball coach at Whitehouse High School. She spent her first year coaching at Bullard ISD as assistant volleyball and softball coach, before serving as assistant softball and cross country coach at Franklin ISD. Jimenez earned a bachelor’s degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Dec. 2017.

“Abilene ISD is a community and school district that I know and have seen pour into its coaches at all levels, which in return allows us to pour into athletes,” said Jimenez. “I am excited to be here, and I can’t wait to build relationships with the Cougar family!”

Jimenez is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports pedagogy from Baylor University. She will begin her duties leading the Cooper softball program in August.
