Special Education
Based on the results of a variety of assessments/RTI, a student may be placed in the special education program to increase learning and use special accommodations to help the student be more successful.
Special education teachers use various techniques to promote learning. Depending on the student, teaching methods may vary and skill areas are specially adapted to the student’s individual needs.
Special education teachers work in a variety of settings. Sometimes we work as special education resource teachers and offer individualized help to students in our own classroom. Other times, we may work in the general education classrooms, teaching together with general education teachers including both general and special education students.
