Center for Innovation

Unlock Your Child’s Potential at Abilene ISD’s Center for Innovation!

The Center for Innovation (CFI) is a specialized magnet program for high-achieving 5th-grade students, designed to challenge and inspire young minds through hands-on, collaborative projects and university-level experiences. Offered in partnership with McMurry University, this unique program gives students exclusive access to university facilities, campus events, and mentorship from highly qualified AISD teachers and McMurry professors.

Admission Requirements

CFI is open to 5th graders who:

  • Have a strong interest in math and science

  • Maintain a 90+ average in core subjects

  • Demonstrate excellent attendance and behavior

  • Achieve strong STAAR scores in ELAR and math

In order to apply, students must be currently enrolled in Abilene ISD.
