Abilene ISD is proud to provide a well-balanced elementary educational program focused on the foundational curriculum of English language arts & reading, mathematics, science, and social studies, along with an enrichment curriculum featuring fine arts, physical education, health, and technology. The Elementary Education Department strives to promote life-long literacy and learning for all students in Abilene ISD through high-quality curriculum, instruction, and professional development for teachers.

Kindergarten Program Information

All Abilene ISD elementary schools offer full-day kindergarten programs. Research overwhelmingly shows that a full-day kindergarten program has a positive long-term impact on academic performance. Our goal is to provide all kindergarten students with the strong foundation necessary to become successful in all academic areas through a balanced, aligned, and integrated curriculum.
