Abilene ISD will continue its policy to operate the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-2025 school year. Under the CEP, breakfast and lunch are free for all students. Some items may be purchased a la carte; their prices can be viewed below.
Adult pricing is as follows:
Breakfast: $3.50
Lunch: $5.00
Our District has developed a Wellness Policy that is focused on improving the health of students. The Wellness Policy was developed by Abilene ISD's School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) which includes teachers, parents, administrators, and the district nurse.
The Wellness Plan and the Board of Trustees' Student Welfare Policy can be viewed below.
Special diet modifications are available for students with a statement signed by a licensed physician, a physician assistant, or another recognized medical authority. The signed statement must be provided to the school nurse, who will then forward it to AISD Student Nutrition Department.
Meal pricing is not affected by dietary modifications. The cafeteria staff tries to be vigilant with children, but it is ultimately the parent’s responsibility to educate the child about what foods should be avoided.
