Bridges
Bridges is an accelerated 8th/9th grade program for students who are 15 years old by September 1st and still in middle school, or a 16 year old reclassified freshman in high school. The goal of the program is to enable students to complete 8th – 10th grade in two years. Once students are classified as 9th graders they can earn credit towards their high school diploma. Students may re-apply to stay at Woodson or return to their home campus once they are back on track to graduate upon approval from the home campus principal.
Criteria for consideration:
- Student must meet one of the state at-risk criteria
- Student must be currently enrolled in an AISD campus
- Meet age requirement for middle/high school
- Completed WCE application
Processes:
- Home campus must provide interventions
- Once the application has been reviewed, a meeting must be conducted with the student, parent, & WCE representative
- Student will be notified when to enroll if accepted
- Seating is limited to 20 8th graders and 20 repeat 9th graders
