Annual Registration
Registration is required for all returning students and plays a vital role in helping us prepare for a smooth and successful school year. Early registration allows us to build class schedules, assign teachers and bus routes, and ensure your family receives timely updates and important information.
New Student Enrollment
If you're joining us in Abilene ISD for the first time, welcome! We can't wait to welcome you to our school community. Please have the following documents for your student ready to submit your enrollment: birth certificate, social security number, immunization records, parent/guardian ID, proof of residence (utility bill, lease, or mortgage documentation).
New Students Zoned to Thomas Elementary or Ortiz Elementary
Ortiz and Thomas elementary schools will enter a sunset year in 2025-26 before being fully repurposed in 2026-27 and are not currently accepting new students.
Families who live in the Thomas Attendance Zone have the opportunity to choose among the following schools: Bowie Elementary, Martinez Elementary, Purcell Elementary, Taylor Elementary. Please note that Taylor Elementary is currently accepting students on a waitlist status only.
Families who live in the Ortiz Attendance Zone have the opportunity to choose among the following schools: Martinez Elementary, Purcell Elementary, Stafford Elementary.
Families interested in enrolling in the district's Elementary Bilingual Program will attend Martinez Elementary.
School Choice Pilot Program
Students zoned to attend Martinez Elementary, Purcell Elementary, and Stafford Elementary have the opportunity to participate in our School Choice Pilot Program. This means that families who are zoned to either of the three School Choice Pilot Program campuses can choose among the three campuses to attend. Returning Students Enrolled Before 2023-25
If you are a parent or guardian of a returning student who was not enrolled in Abilene ISD in 2023-24 or 2024-25, the online system will not allow you to complete registration at this time. We look forward to welcoming you and your student back to AISD, and we anticipate that families in this situation will be able to complete returning student registration in July.
