Director of Early Childhood Programs

Julie Wilson

Welcome to the Long Early Learning Center! We are proud to serve the Abilene ISD community, families and students. Long ELC staff work tirelessly to ensure the littlest of learners succeed in the foundational skills necessary to be school ready.

Education has been and will forever be my “family business”. Growing up in a family of educators, my only dream was to become a teacher. After graduating from Abilene High and then Baylor University, I began teaching in 2006. While my career started in 4/5th grade, my heart has always been in early childhood. In 2013, I moved back home and joined the early childhood program as a teacher.

When I am not at school, you can find me cheering on one of my four children or my husband, who is the softball coach at HSU. We have twin boys who are attending SMU and pursuing a degree in engineering. The younger two girls attend AISD schools and are busy with softball, soccer, and gymnastics.

It is a true honor to continue the great mission of the Abilene ISD Early Childhood programs.

Go Cubs!
