PALs is aTeen Mentoring Initiative that began in Abilene in 1997 as a join venture with Big Brothers Big Sisters and has since expanded statewide. The PALs program pairs mentors with selected students at elementary schools throughout the year.

Participants:

Work with our special needs “Buddies” from the PAC class at Abilene High School and help with Unted We Dance Prom.
Help set AISD 1st-grade students up for success by entrenching the goal of high school graduation through the GOALS (Getting Others to Achieve Lifetime Success) system. GOALS is an effort of the AHS PALS to lessen the drop out rate in Abilene.
Provide Christmas trees for less fortunate children through Adopt-an-Angel, a joint
venture with the Salvation Army.
Attend training at Area Convention, which serves students well in life after high school.
