The Center for Innovation (CFI) is a specialized magnet program for high-achieving 5th-grade students, designed to challenge and inspire young minds through hands-on, collaborative projects and university-level experiences. Offered in partnership with McMurry University, this unique program gives students exclusive access to university facilities, campus events, and mentorship from highly qualified AISD teachers and McMurry professors.

At CFI, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) serve as the foundation for instruction in all academic areas. However, the curriculum is specially designed to capitalize on the students’ interests and abilities by emphasizing math and science through cross-curricular connections, hands-on activities, and amplified lessons.

The CFI program benefits participating students from an accelerated, advanced curriculum as well as provides them with a preview of the college experience - setting the tone for future possibilities!
