Eligibility Criteria

  • Currently enrolled Abilene ISD 4th-grade student

  • Interest in mathematics and science

  • Maintain a 90+ average in core subjects (language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies for the 4th-grade school year)

  • Satisfactory attendance with minimal tardies for the 4th-grade school year

  • Satisfactory conduct (student behavior/discipline referrals from 3rd and 4th grades considered)

  • Strong performance on STAAR assessments (passing both ELAR and Mathematics)

All students who apply are considered and must meet criteria for attendance, behavior, and academic performance.

Application Process

All submitted applications will be reviewed and compared to the selection criteria.

The final selection stage will determine the 50 CFI students invited to participate for the 2025-2026 school year. A lottery system may be used as needed to finalize the selection of qualifying students.

We anticipate a final selection notifications will be completed by the end of May.
