Abilene ISD hosted eighth-graders from across the district on Tuesday, Dec. 10, for Hello High School, a comprehensive event that allowed them to explore the groups, organizations, and course opportunities that will be offered to them in high school.
Students were provided personalized schedules based on their career interests, allowing them to rotate through various sessions focused on CTE programs of study and high school planning.
Students had the opportunity to talk to numerous current high schoolers, local business representatives, and post-secondary institutions about future opportunities they may have yet to learn about. Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas was present to make students aware of the labor market demands in the Abilene area.
We invite current 8th-grade families to review our High School Career Kick-Off Guide for information on next steps and relevant timelines for high school planning.
