State mandated screenings include:

Heights, Weights, Hearing, Vision, and Blood Pressure for all students in Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and new students to Abilene ISD.
State mandated scoliosis screenings for all 5th grade girls (boys will be screened in middle School).
"Always Changing" health class is for all 5th grade students. Boys and girls are separated and will watch a video that focuses on the normal body changes during puberty. As a parent, you can opt out of this. Watch for a letter to go home with your student.
GloGerm presentation is provided by ExpressER for all students. Students are taught how to properly wash their hands. Each student is able to see how well they can remove all the germs from their hands.
Oral hygiene education is provided for 1st-grade students. Each student is sent home with their very own toothbrush and toothpaste.
